Cooling an In-Flight Catering Facility / Expo Central Kitchen

Optimizing Cooling Efficiency and Capacity for Premium Catering Services and Major Events

Project Overview

ADEAREST successfully implemented a comprehensive refrigeration solution for a major in-flight catering facility, which also served as the central kitchen for Expo 2020. This state-of-the-art facility houses produce for private flights, business flights, and premium catering services during the prestigious Expo event.

Our team installed an advanced refrigeration system using Ammonia as primary refrigerant, and Glycol as a secondary refrigerant. The system is equipped with screw compressors and evaporative condensers, ensuring efficient cooling across various operational areas. This allows for the rapid handling of large quantities of food with precision and reliability.

The blast freezers and chillers significantly enhance the facility's capacity to cool large volumes of cooked food from high temperatures to +5oC within 90 minutes. The ADEAREST-installed blast freezers and chillers boost the facility's ability to manage busy catering schedules and large-scale events.

Technical Overview

The refrigeration system at Expo’s central kitchen is designed for performance and reliability. The advanced blast freezers and chillers have been designed to handle cooling multiple trolleys of cooked food in a short time, streamlining the facility’s operations.

With enhanced cooling capacities and state-of-the-art equipment, the facility is well-prepared to deliver exceptional catering services and meet the demands of high-profile events.
