A Cooling System to Set New Standards in Milk Production

Supporting a farm's growth to 5,000 cows focused on A2A2 protein-rich milk

Project Overview

This strategic project is part of the UAE's broader strategy towards increasing food security through local food production. ADEAREST has been tasked to develop a large-scale dairy farm to significantly boost our client’s milk production. The farm currently houses 1,250 cows, with plans to import an additional 1,250 cows within the year. Our client’s target is to house 5,000 cows over the next three years. During this period, daily milk production is expected to increase from 75 to 310 tons of clean milk, making the farm one of the largest producers of clean milk in the region. This facility will be focusing on milk rich in A2A2 protein, which is known for its numerous health benefits.

Phase One: Milk Chilling System

The refrigeration system we installed for phase one of the milk chilling process can handle raw milk at a capacity of 6,000 liters per hour. The system utilizes V-type GEA reciprocating compressors and evaporative condensers, with ammonia as the primary refrigerant and glycol as the secondary refrigerant. This ensures efficient cooling and precise temperature control. To maintain optimal hygiene, the setup includes stainless steel buffer tanks, plate heat exchangers, glycol piping, and cladding.

The system comprises of ASME-approved pressure vessels, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.

Additionally, a state-of-the-art PLC system is in place to ensure operational efficiency and reliability. This enables smooth and effective milk chilling operations that meet the stringent demands of dairy production.

Phase Two: Future Expansion

Phase two of the project, currently under construction, will add an additional 10,000 liters per hour to the 6,000 liters capacity of phase one. This expansion will further enhance the farm's ability to meet growing production demands while maintaining energy efficiency and high dairy quality.
